Marginated Century Plant

This large plant grows up to 10 feet tall or more with falling, arched leaves edged in variegated yellow or pinkish edges on the leaf margin. Slower growing than the Plain Americana, this plant is free pupping. Grow in full sun for a denser leaf or in partial shade for a skinnier blade. Likes fertilizer, and mulch is ok.

Grows from center folds producing leaves from center that die out at the bottom. Trim with saw or very sharp knife.

Although a fan of warmer climates - this plant can tolerate cold weather. Even with 65% freeze burn out - plants here at the Cactus King Nursery came back beautifully. To keep from freezing - be sure and cover with plastic.

Tip: For a delightful flavor twist, use the leaves to add a smokey flavor at your next barbecue and astound your guests with a Polque Cocktail, made from fermented agave juice.

The Cactus King's plants are also featured in the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom's partner parks. These include their water park, amusement park, crocodile park and botanical gardens.
